It’s amazing what you find when you clean out and organize your painting desk. I rediscovered this set and decided to pull it out and give it a shot. It came from a bookseller as a Christmas gift for his customers.

The vignette was two pieces – a snowman and a hussar. They fit nicely on a GW base. The base was coated with Liquitex Resin Gel, painted black, then drybushed with earth tones. A better choice would have been white in the areas I placed the snow. I made the snow cover by repeatedly applying superglu and then Woodland Scenics white flock. After it dried, I repeated it until it was the depth I wanted.

I have been wargaming as long as I can remember. I met my wife when I was 14 and had been gaming long before that so that should give you an indication as to how long it has been. One of the first games I owned was Anzio by Avalon Hill. I drove over to the hobby shop in the snow to pick it up as I finally had the money to get something! I can remember playing with Airfix figures and Roco tanks back in the 6th grade and before.
