Following rapidly on the heels of his stunning victory over Union forces at Snifter Station, MG Cornpone was promoted to head the Confederate Department of the Trans-Missibama. In an astute gesture of political sophistication, Cornpone sent a wagon full of his family’s Corn Whiskey to his friends and supporters in the Confederate Congress. Unbeknownst to him, however, Union loyalists sent notification to the commander of the enemy forces to the north. Thus came about another battle to add to the legend of MG Cornpone.

The Battle of Snifter Station – Part 3

As the cavalry battles on the left continued, the main battle developed in the center. The Confederate left flank, terribly empty for a couple of turns, was shored up by the return of the brigade that had fled the field. Union forces maintained a steady but slow pace as the dice did not go their way at all. This was a result of the decision I had made before the game to make the command ratings a 7 to reflect their inexperience. Black Powder in the American Civil War – The Battle of Snifter Station

I have spent the last few months trying to complete an ACW project that has been underway for a while. I bought the figures back in 1986??? and they have been in storage since then. Fire and Fury (FnF) was all the rage and I wanted to get a sizeable force for both sides of the conflict, so I picked up a lot of MiniFigs, Stone Mountain, and some other figures (but I have no clue who made them).
